25 Random Facts about the Crazy Chinese

1. I love my coffee. Well, I guess this isn't so random because everybody and anybody who comes within my one metre radius of personal space can smell it off my breath.

2. The person I admire the most in my life is my mother.

3. I am Chinese by nationality, but Canadian by culture.

4. One of my greatest passions is to travel - not with a tour, but on my own or with close friends and/or family.

5. I would list some of my pet peeves, but that would greatly exceed my limit of just 25 random facts. Lots of things tick me off and every one of those have the potential to set me off into a crazy rant. I'm nuts, I know.

6. Well, I guess #5 leads to the other random fact about me: I don't know how to feel passively about something. I react to everything menopausally. If I don't like something, then I dislike it with A PASSION. If I like something, then I fall in love with it. Others may not know this fact about me because I try to mask my bipolaredness by keeping my big mouth shut. It doesn't always work, but it helps - I've managed to keep the same job for 5 years, haven't I?

7. I love to bargain and don't like giving up without a fight...when making a purchase because I hate getting ripped off. However, in general, I am pretty non-confrontational. I don't like making a scene, and I am uncomfortable when I become the centre of attention.

8. I am ridiculously cheap. I get lost in the Dollar store and I get physically dizzy when I enter a store with lots of "sale" signs. I generally shop by price tag.

9. My biggest dream is to work in a developing country. People there may not have much, but their richness in life is immeasurable.

10. I LOVE my single life. I absolutely LOVE the freedom that comes with it!

11. I LOVE children but would be perfectly content if I didn't have any of my own. I love being around them. Their innocence is something I cherish and strive to preserve.

12. Although I love to be around people, I also LOVE my personal space.

13. I think the world doesn't laugh enough.

14. I cried when Optimus Prime appeared in the movie, Transformers. I was only a step away from clapping and cheering in the packed theatre (it was REALLY packed - my shyness finally overcame my joy, so instead, I cried silent tears of joy). I LOVE OPTIMUS. REALLY.

15. The first movie I saw in the theatre was Ben and Jerry - my sister, Debbie brought my brother and I to see it. I have the best siblings in the world!

16. I was raised by strong women (my mom, sisters and granny) and I will be forever grateful for them. They taught me self-respect and independance (may have overtaught the latter).

17. My lifestylfe: work hard, play hard (I guess it's linked to #6).

18. Regardless of what happens in the future, should I ever get married, Yue Ching Loo is going to be my maid-of-honor (it was a deal set in stone since we were 6 years old).

19. I am my own worst critic.

20. My favorite chinese dessert is the sweet red bean soup but because of "obvious" reasons, I am not allowed to have it very often, or around people.

21. I don't like cold food (e.g. salads). I enjoy food more when it's just finished boiling.

22. I don't get bored of stuff easily. I could watch things over and over again, listen to the same CD for months non-stop, etc.

23. I walk around like a happy nut job because I really do feel like a million bucks - I feel like I've been beyond thoroughly blessed with so many amazing people in my life.

24. I only started to live and appreciate life when I was 18.

25. That was when I became a Christian.

Hello Cyberworld!

And when I say "cyberworld", I really mean "Momma D"! That's right, D, I had to create a blog because your new blog wouldn't let me post any comments unless I had a blog/website etc, of my own. So, here I am! Anyway, it's all good. I would have never paid 1oo bucks for a website! I'm just glad you've found a cheap website to update the rest of us out-of-towners!! Seriously, I don't know what you feed your children - every time I check out your blog, they've all changed AGAIN! There needs to be a limit as to how fast children can grow...PERIOD!

And, I guess if you've accidently stumbled upon this blog and you don't fall into the category of "Momma D" or "That Dang Family", there's not much on this blog that would be of any use to you - no enterntainment and you're certainly not going to get edu-me-cated here. Sorry! Better luck with the next blog!!

Yours truly,
Auntie Lan Lan
